Gilbert residents are invited to learn more about a proposed cemetery near Greenfield and Queen Creek Roads at an open house on Tuesday, June 28, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the South Area Service Center. Attendees will learn more about the conceptual layout for the site as well as the vision for a first class amenity.
Since its incorporation in 1920, Gilbert has been without a cemetery forcing families to travel outside of the community to obtain cemetery plots and make arrangements for the burial and visitation of loved ones. As Gilbert has matured as a community from its small beginnings to a large modern municipality, there has been an increasing interest by residents and elected officials to have a local option for the final resting place of family and loved ones. Gilbert is pleased to announce that it has entered into negotiations with Bunker Family Funerals & Cremations for the development and operation of a first class cemetery in Gilbert near the corner of Greenfield and Queen Creek Roads, to the west of Gilbert’s South Area Service Center.
