Fall is a great time to get outdoors and explore all Gilbert Parks and Recreation has to offer.  In addition to our amazing parks, recreation centers and programs, we offer over 32 miles of shared use paved paths to enjoy biking, running and walking. Be sure to stop by the Parks and Recreation office to pick up the latest map of Gilbert facilities and trails. We are located at 90 E Civic Center Dr Municipal building II, Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

The Gilbert Parks and Recreation Foundation is hosting the first annual “LAKESIDE LUAU” on October 21, 2017 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM. It will be an exciting family event and all proceeds go to enhance parks and recreation in Gilbert!  Did you know that you can become a “Friends of the Foundation” member and receive numerous benefits such as early program registration? Check out all the exciting opportunities to support Gilbert Parks and Recreation at www.mygprf.org

Gilbert was recently honored with a 2016 Playful City USA designation for the 11th year. The national recognition program honors cities and towns across the country for making their communities more playable. Additionally, Gilbert received the Tree City Award for the 9th year. I encourage you to enjoy our great programs at the Riparian Preserve including Bird Walks, Explore the Night Sky at the Observatory, Nature camps, and more. Be sure to check out our Community Events Calendar located on page XX for a variety of activities, events and fun for all ages in our recreation centers and parks.
