Extreme heat in Arizona can be deadly but you can help!

Each year, a number of lives are lost due to heat-related illness.  The heat can affect anyone, but persons who are homeless, elderly or young are at an increased risk. In an effort to provide resources to those in need, Gilbert has partnered with the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) and other organizations to support the Heat Relief Network.

To sustain these efforts, Gilbert is calling for businesses, residents, and volunteer groups to help out with bottled water and other new non-perishable, heat-related donations. Donations will be accepted through Labor Day. Help us reach our goal of 3,500 water bottles, double from last year!

Notice of Public Hearings

Town of Gilbert 2018-2019 CDBG Annual Action Plan

The Town of Gilbert hosted a public meeting February 8, 2018 and a public hearing on March 14, 2018 for Gilbert's 2018-2019 fourth year CDBG Annual Action Plan. There will be one additional opportunity (as listed below) for the public to comment and feedback on the proposed CDBG goals, projects, and activities outlined in the plan.

The FY 2018-19 Annual Action Plan is required by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in order to receive federal funds under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and HOME Investment Partnership Funds.

The Plan provides an assessment of the community needs, goals, and priorities in the areas of affordable housing, human services, community development and other programs designed to improve the quality of life for low- and moderate income Gilbert residents.

The Annual Action Plan lists specific programs and dollar amounts and serves as the fiscal year 2018-19 Town application to HUD for the allocation of CDBG funding estimated to be $888,761 and HOME Investment Partnership funding estimated to be $201,990 in 2018-19 based on prior year funding.

The public is encouraged to review a draft of the Annual Action Plan- click here to view- and to attend public meetings/hearings to provide feedback and comments.
