Current News:

Back to School Backpack Drive

Gilbert's community non-profit partner AZCEND is conducting a backpack drive to help make sure every child from Pre-K through High School starts the new school year with a new backpack.

Each year, a number of lives are lost due to heat-related illness.  The heat can affect anyone, but persons who are homeless, elderly or young are at an increased risk. In an effort to provide resources to those in need, Gilbert has partnered with the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) and other organizations to support the Heat Relief Network.

To sustain these efforts, Gilbert is calling for businesses, residents, and volunteer groups to help out with bottled water and other new non-perishable, heat-related donations. Donations will be accepted through Labor Day.
