The Town of Gilbert is moving forward with the planning and design of improvements to Somerton Boulevard, from Williams Field Road to Recker Road. This project supports the next phase of growth in the Cooley Station community and helps complete the original vision of a looped road system. Once finished, it will improve traffic flow and reduce congestion on nearby major roads. The work includes widening the road east of Verde Drive and building a new section west of Verde Drive through current farmland. In addition to the roadwork, the project will bring important upgrades like new water and sewer lines, street lighting, and traffic improvements.
