Project Description:

Construction is taking place along Gilbert Road from Guadalupe to Baseline Roads to install a new waterline. In addition to the new waterline, ST168 will also include the reconstruction of asphalt roadway, the removal, and replacement of existing driveways to comply with ADA requirements as well as various sidewalk and curb repairs. New raised median islands and pavement markings will also be installed to provide additional safety measures by limiting left-turns near one another.

Construction is scheduled to begin the week of November 19 with the following work scheduled:

  • November 19-21: Daytime only lane restrictions possible for removal of palm trees from the median islands.
  • November 26 until early 2019: Work will take place to install the main waterline near the center of Gilbert Road beginning north of Guadalupe Road and moving in a northerly direction to Baseline Road. Gilbert Road will remain open for travel with traffic shifted away from the work zone, two lanes in each direction will be open for travel and left turns restricted near the work zone. Following main line installation, during installation of lateral lines, an additional lane restriction may be in place, during off-peak hours only.

Access to businesses will be maintained during this work.

We appreciate your patience while we make these necessary improvements.
