Your Dollars. Your Gilbert.
Water for Tomorrow.
Gilbert is taking action to safeguard our water resources. In response to ongoing challenges from drought, climate change, and increased demand on the Colorado River, the Town of Gilbert has initiated Stage One of its Water Supply Reduction Management Plan. This proactive measure focuses on lowering municipal water consumption, inspiring residents and businesses to voluntarily conserve—particularly with outdoor water use—and ramping up public education about responsible water practices.
As part of this effort, Gilbert Parks and Recreation has identified several key park areas for turf-to-xeriscape conversion. Factors such as irrigation needs, water source type, turf utilization, and the condition of grass and nearby trees guided the selection process. Parks slated for conversion include: Freestone Park, Water Ranch, Crossroads Park, Cosmo Park, and Cactus Yards.
