Thanks to community funds received from Walmart, the Gilbert Police Department Crime Prevention Unit will be offering “free” event supply kits on a first come-first served basis to Gilbert community leaders/block watch captains who commit to hosting a neighborhood event during the month of October. These event supplies, which will consist of paper and food products, as well as brochures and other give-aways can be obtained simply by presenting a copy of your neighborhood party invitation by email to Klair.Weiland@gilbertaz.gov or faxed 480-635-7596 prior to September 21st. Your name, email and contact phone number must be included on your submission. Pick up of these kits will be held Monday October 1st and 2nd from 4 until 7 pm in the police department lobby.
The purpose of G.A.I.N. is to heighten crime awareness, generate support and participation in local anti-crime efforts, and build community relations. A good neighbor is one of the most effective crime prevention tools ever invented.
Please note that should your neighborhood want to close a road or request trash cans or barricades, the Town requires you to submit a Block Party Permit at least 5 days prior to the date of the event and pay a $25.00 fee. For this form Click here.
