About Us

The Gilbert Senior Center, located inside the Gilbert Community Center, serves adults ages 55 and older. We offer a variety of programs, meal services, field trips, and activities designed to help active adults connect, engage, and create lasting memories.

Senior Center staff can be reached M-F, 8 AM-4 PM, at 480-503-6290. The Gilbert Senior Center is closed on all major holidays.

The Senior Center will be closed on the following dates: 7/3, 9/7, 11/26-11/27, 12/25

AZCEND provides the senior nutrition program at the Gilbert Senior Center.

About our meal service:

The dining room at the Gilbert Senior Center is open from 8 AM- 3 PM, M-F unless an activity or event states otherwise. Please view the calendar above for details.

Meals are served M-F from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM.
Guests can enjoy a hot lunch or soup and salad daily at the Gilbert Senior Center. Those 60+ or under 60 with disabilities may choose a hot meal or soup and salad for a suggested contribution of $4.50; for those under 60 there is a charge of $6.00. Guests meals are available for $6.00/meal. All seniors 60+ who participate in the meal program will be required to fill out annual paperwork .Reservations are requested but not required.

Home Delivered Meals

AZCEND also offers the Home Delivered Meals Program for those who are unable to come to the center. A hot nutritious meal is delivered to the home Monday - Friday between 10 AM - 2 PM. To qualify for programs participants must call the Senior Helpline which is offered by Area Agency on Aging 602-264-4357.
An assessment for Private Pay meals is available for those who don’t qualify for program funded meal delivery. Please contact AZCEND's HDM Coordinator, at 480-503-6058 for more information.

Volunteer Drivers Needed

The AZCEND Home Delivered Meals program provides meals to homebound seniors or disabled individuals. Volunteers deliver meals Monday-Friday from 9:30am-12pm and 11:30am-2pm.
Whether you are available once per month, once per week or only on an emergency basis, your help is needed. Volunteers drive their own vehicles and are reimbursed for mileage. Drivers must have a valid driver’s license, auto insurance and the ability to obtain a Level 1 fingerprint clearance card.

Gilbert Parks & Recreation offers an exciting mix of social events, educational classes, fitness programs, and field trips designed to keep our community engaged and active. All activities are open to East Valley residents ages 60 and older, providing a welcoming space to connect, learn, and have fun.

Quarterly Senior Center Newsletter

Dementia Family & Caregiver Support Group

Join us the 3rd Tuesday of every month!

We warmly invite you to join our Dementia Family and Caregiver Support Group! Connect with others who are navigating similar experiences and gain valuable support, advice, and understanding. Our group is led by a trained facilitator and a community member, ensuring a welcoming and informative environment for all. While caregivers are attending the support group, your loved one with dementia will take part in engaging experience provided by staff, activities will include art, music and movement, stories, reading and mindful movement. Come be a part of our supportive community!

We are partnering with Higher Octave Healing to offer music therapy specially designed for individuals living with dementia, providing comfort, connection, and meaningful engagement through the power of music. Music Therapy will be available the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

The following opportunities are available for 2026-2027
- Veterans Day Breakfast-11/11 (donuts, gifts for Veterans, breakfast)
- Bingo Prizes (gift cards, paper towels, Kleenex, toilet paper, body wash, dish soap, laundry soap, tooth paste, snacks)
- Senior Game Show Showdown Prizes-This event is offered monthly and looking for prizes such as small gift cards & snacks.
- September 16-Lunchtime Senior Pizza Party (provide pizza)
