About Vaughn Avenue Basin
Vaughn Avenue Basin is 3.5 acres of open space that is suitable for sport practices or any other type of activities where one would need a lot of space to play. It does not have any restroom facilities or Ramadas for rental; however the grassy basin area is reservable. Vaughn Ave Basin is adjacent to the Western Power line Trail that connects to the Consolidated and Western canals along a two-mile stretch between Cooper and Lindsay roads.
Volunteers with the Friends for Life no-kill animal shelter and students from Gilbert Early College charter school planted 29 trees in 2011 with the goal on making the park beautiful for residents. The planting was part of a $10,000 grant to the town from the Arizona Land Department.
