Community Emergency Notification System (CENS) - During an emergency in the Maricopa County region, CENS is designed to rapidly notify the affected area of the emergency by sending a recorded message through the telephone system. CENS uses the 9-1-1 database to extract phone numbers determined by the circle or area drawn on the CENS map. CENS launches a prerecorded message to the telephone numbers in the area defined. Cell and VoIP phones are not part of the 911 database; however, the public can now register Cell or VoIP phones with the CENS system. (CENS notifications are based on the address you provide for your Cell and or VoIP phone.) Click here to register your Cell or VoIP phone number.

Weather RadioNOAA_All_Hazards_Color

NOAA Weather Radio (NWR) broadcasts National Weather Service alerts, warning, watches, forecasts and other hazard information 24 hours a day.  During severe weather, NWS forecasters interrupt regular broadcasting and send a special tone activation to local weather radios.  Weather radios equipped with a siren feature will sound a weather alert giving immediate information about a life-threatening situation.  Any radio won't do because only a weather radio can receive NOAA broadcasts.  A weather radio that can run on back-up batteries is the only way to ensure you receive severe weather and public alerts even without electricity.  They can be purchased at most retail stores.
