The food banks and food pantries serving Gilbert residents are always in need of volunteers and food donations to support their efforts. Learn how you can help!

Looking to make a citrus donation? The following groups accept direct donations of fruit:

Financial donations are welcome year-round. Every $1 you give can provide 3 meals or $30 worth of food for the hungry in Gilbert. You can make a cash donation online with any of the food pantries/banks below. You can use the links above to connect with the organization 

Financial donations are greatly appreciated because of the food bank purchasing power. For example, a household will typically donate $20 worth of food to a food drive. That same $20 financial donation would yield $600 worth of food simply based on the Food Bank’s ability to procure donated food in large quantities. And, because the food banks distributes the food to all of the food pantries in Gilbert, ultimately they receive 30x the food to provide to people in need.

Missed the food drive, but still interested in helping? Here is a list of the most needed items at our local food pantries.

Items in Need:

• Canned protein (Chicken and Tuna)
• Peanut butter
• Squeezable jelly (No glass)
• Breakfast cereals (whole wheat, healthy preferred)
• Canned beans, vegetables and fruit
• Bags of Pasta and Rice
• Canned pasta (i.e. Ravioli)

All donated food items should be unopened, non-perishable and should not be past its expiration date. Please, no glass containers.

Site Collection Responsibilities:

• Host boxes/or bins on site as provided by United Food Bank
• Promote to the community
• Have volunteers to help sort & remove any expired products
• Take a few photos to document the success
