Projects Completed 2025

While not comprehensive, here is a sample of projects that were completed during the 2025 9/11 Day of Service:

• 144 volunteers donated 290 hours gathering, separating, and folding clothes for a community clothing giveaway.
• 906 volunteers donated 1,860 hours collecting, sorting, and delivering hygiene items, paper goods, and street survival supplies for the unhoused and working poor.
• 270 volunteers donated hours sorting, preparing, and packaging 1,800 pounds of soap for local nonprofits.
• 54 donors and a sock drive resulted in 1,000 hours of service. They gave blood for the Red Cross and donated 200 pairs of socks for Arizona families.
• 819 volunteers donated 1,625 hours preparing and running a community clothing drive, with donations going to City Hope, Kids Kindness, La Mesa Ministries, and the Diné/Navajo Nation community.
• 50 volunteers donated 150 hours preparing and serving food at a pancake breakfast attended by 400+ community members.
• 78 volunteers donated 300 hours supporting Helen’s Hope Chest, AZCEND, and JROTC through a teen clothing drive, laundry supply drive, and laundry gift baskets.
• 20 volunteers donated 90 hours distributing food boxes for Friends of the Needy.
• 45 volunteers donated 220 hours making quilts at a quilting bee for AZ Blankets 4 Kids.
• 200 volunteers donated 575 hours to beautify Gilbert High School.
• 100 volunteers donated 100 hours setting up Day of Service events at Evident Life Church, Living Word Church, Gilbert Presbyterian Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Helen’s Hope Chest, St. Anne’s, Friends of the Needy Food Bank, Clothes Cabin, and AZCEND.
• 275 volunteers donated 800 hours preparing and carrying out a community clothing giveaway. Deseret Industries received the remaining clothing donations.
• ●377 volunteers donated 721 hours to create a community program celebrating first responders, attended by 218 community members.
• ●400 volunteers donated 1,860 hours gathering and preparing clothing for another community clothing giveaway.
• ●280+ youth volunteers donated 500+ hours serving Sole Pursuit, A New Leaf, Gilbert Public Schools, and Phoenix Children’s Hospital through various service projects.
• 368 volunteers donated 700 hours completing service projects for Evident Life Church, Gilbert Presbyterian Church, Living Word Church, Midwest Food Bank, Laloboy Foundation, AZCEND, American Legion, and Boy Scouts of America.
• 880 volunteers donated 1,625 hours completing other small and impactful service projects for various organizations in Gilbert.
• Community volunteers donated 122 hours planning, preparing, and participating in a hands-on service event. Organizations involved included Creative Kindness, Pawsitive Friendships, Brightly Living, Winged Hope, Kids for Kindness, and Gathering Humanity, with one project focused on making banners for MD Anderson Cancer Center and Banner Gateway Hospital.
