“When one person hurts in our community, we all hurt. Our lives are intertwined. In Gilbert we support our neighbors, we support our public safety and we extend kindness to ALL. I have been focused for the last year on how we build the City of the Future. I was reminded by one of our awesome Town team members that our biggest contribution will be supporting the People of the Future by listening and learning from each other.” – Mayor Jenn Daniels
In light of recent events, Mayor Jenn Daniels is working with Team Gilbert and the community to create a new initiative: Listen. Learn. Act. Amplify. We've created Gilbert's Listening Space, in addition to, asking our community to share their thoughts and join in our conversations. Please share by filling out the form below or signing up for one of the upcoming events for the Gilbert Listening Space.
Gilbert's Listening Space
In Gilbert, we stand against racism in all forms. We’ve created Gilbert’s Listening Space, a place for your stories, experiences, and feedback to be heard. With your help, we can create actionable change in our community.
The goal of Gilbert’s Listening Space is to provide a resource for our community to speak with Gilbert Police, representatives of Gilbert school districts, and Gilbert staff about racism and police reform. We’re focused on listening to our community and providing the feedback to elected officials and Town leadership.
We invite members of the community to make their voices heard by signing up for a 25-minute time slot from 6:30 – 8:30PM on Thursday, June 11th, Tuesday, June 16th, or Thursday, June 18th. Both in-person and online appointments are available.
Deadline to register will be 5:00PM for the day of the event.
As we continue to focus on flattening the COVID-19 curve, appointments must be made in advance and no walk-ins will be accommodated.
