Temporary Gilbert Park Closures Scheduled for this Summer

Gilbert, Ariz. - Several parks across Gilbert will temporarily close this summer as part of planned maintenance and improvement projects designed to keep community spaces safe, functional and enjoyable for residents year-round.

The majority of closures were intentionally scheduled during the summer months, when park usage is typically lower due to extreme temperatures, helping reduce impacts to residents while allowing crews to complete work more efficiently.

While some projects focus on maintenance and rehabilitation, others support major park investments and long-term improvements that will expand recreation opportunities across Gilbert.

Upcoming Summer Closures

  • Cactus Yards Entryway: May 18- approximately August 18
  • Cosmo Dog Park Beach and Lake: July 5- August 10
  • Crossroads Park:
    • Dog Park- June 5~19 
    • Ball Fields, Sand Volleyball, Playground, Restrooms, and North Parking Lots- June 5- September 5
    • Multi-Use Fields: June 15- August 14
    • AZ Ice Parking Lot: September 7- 23
  • Desert Sky Park: May 26- September 4
  • Freestone Park:
    • Ball Fields, Restroom Building and Portions of the Parking Lot: June 5- September 4
    • Skate Park, Basketball, Restroom Building, and Sand Volleyball: July 20- September 11
  • Gilbert Regional Park:
    • Pickleball Courts 1-8: June 15- 21
    • Pickleball Courts 9-16: June 22- 28

Closure dates and timelines remain subject to change based on weather, construction progress and operational needs. Updates will continually be made to this story.
