Gilbert Announces Major Upgrades Coming to Crossroads and Freestone Parks

Gilbert, Ariz. - Significant improvements are coming to two of Gilbert’s most popular parks, with construction set to begin this year. 

These projects represent a continued investment in Gilbert’s parks system, modernizing aging infrastructure, expanding recreation opportunities, and supporting long-term water sustainability. 

Community members are invited to attend upcoming open house meetings to learn more. 

Planned Improvements 

Crossroads Park 

  •  Aging irrigation system replacement 
  • Lake renovation as part of a town-wide initiative 
  • Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) wells to support water resiliency  
  • More details about these projects 

Freestone Park 

  •  New pickleball complex and splash pad 
  • Skate park and ballfield concrete repairs
  • Aging irrigation system replacement 
  • Lake renovation to improve water quality and long-term performance  
  • More details about these projects 

The Town is coordinating these projects to minimize disruption while delivering lasting improvements for residents. Lake renovations across both parks are part of a broader effort to enhance water quality, improve system performance, and support environmental resilience.

Both meetings will be held in an open house format with no formal presentation. Residents are welcome to attend at any time during the scheduled hour.
