HUSD LogoThe Arizona Department of Education posted the top school districts in the state based in spring 2014 AIMS scores. Higley Unified School District is at the top of the list. The data has been broken down to show the Higley Community just how well our schools performed. The state Department of Education releases school performance ratings each year based on student growth and academic achievement. Points determine school grades.

Notable from this year’s school performance release:
• Higley Unified School District is the TOP public school district in the state.
• All Higley schools earned “A's” from the state.
• Higley Unified School District is the ONLY K-12 public school district in the state to have ALL schools receive an “A” ratings.
• Centennial Elementary is ranked No. 1 among district K-6 schools in Arizona.
• Power Ranch Elementary School is ranked No. 3 among district K-6 schools in Arizona.
• Cooley and Sossaman Middle schools tied as the No. 2 ranked district middle schools in Arizona.
• Both Higley High and Williams Field High schools earned “A” ratings.
• 8 of Higley’s 12 elementary schools are ranked in the Top 10 Percent of all district elementary schools in Arizona.
• 11 of Higley’s 12 schools are ranked in the Top 20 percent of all schools (district & charter) in Arizona.
• Higley High School gained 17 points over 2013 – putting it in the Top 10 percent of all schools for total point growth.
• Higley Unified School District is one of only 9 districts to earn an “A” rating each of the 4 years of the state’s letter grade system.
• Higley Unified School District has been in the Top 10 of all public school districts in Arizona for the last four years.
