Gilbert, Ariz. - The exclusive new teen area at the Southeast Regional Library in Gilbert, dubbed “the Vault,” will be the site of a ribbon cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 17. Community members and library lovers—especially teens—are encouraged to attend the event.
Library officials consulted with teens to conceptualize and name the retro-modern, highly decorative teen-centric space that features a comfortable booth setting for reading and collaborating, lower shelving for easier access to materials, and dedicated technology to accommodate gaming and Internet surfing.
Dedication program speakers include Jared Taylor of the Gilbert Town Council, Supervisor Steve Chucri and Board Chairman Denny Barney of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, and Rod Buchanan, Gilbert Parks and Recreation.
The Friends of the Southeast Regional Library, who donated more than $40,000 to remodel and upgrade the teen space, will be honored at the event.
Southeast Regional Library, operated by the Maricopa County Library District, is located at 775 N. Greenfield Rd., Gilbert. For more information, visit www.mcldaz.org.
