Gilbert, Ariz- For the fifth year in a row, Cactus Yards boasts the title of Outstanding Park of the Year from the United States Specialty Sport Association (USSSA) as it celebrates its fifth anniversary in style.
The facility received the highest scores on park amenities, concessions, cleanliness, maintenance, staff courtesy and affordability, earning an overall score of 9.8/10. The award is voted on by coaches and players who competed in the 2023 Arizona USSSA baseball season.
The complex, located at 4536 E. Elliot Road, has been awarded the title of outstanding park by the USSSA every year since its opening in 2019.
“This remarkable achievement is a testament to our team's hard work and dedication and the unwavering support from our community and USSSA,” said Robert Carmona, Gilbert’s Parks and Recreation Director. “We are proud to be recognized for our commitment to providing a world-class park experience, and we look forward to continuing to serve the visitors of Cactus Yards.”
The team at Cactus Yards welcomes the public to explore the facility on Friday, February 9 from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Guests can snag a free cookie or cinnamon pretzel bites from Sliders Sports Grill while supplies last.
The complex features eight fields modeled from America’s most famous ballparks, from Chicago’s Wrigley Field to Fenway Park in Boston and of course the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Chase Field. There’s also a 20,000 square-foot indoor fieldhouse, batting cages, a playground and two on-site restaurants.
