Gilbert, Ariz. - For the first time nationally, the Town of Gilbert is being recognized for its commitment to wellness. Healthiest Employers has included Gilbert in its list of 2023 Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America. Other Arizona companies earning the achievement this year, alongside Gilbert, include Shamrock Foods Company and Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

All Gilbert employees have access to the Gilbert Wellness program, which aims to support and enhance the overall culture of wellness within the organization and the surrounding community.

“Together, through Gilbert Wellness, employees are building healthy habits and a strong, supportive community,” said Chief People Officer Nathan Williams, “Healthier employees are often happier, more engaged, and better able to serve residents. By having a thriving wellness program, Gilbert minimizes the costs of healthcare for the organization, ultimately benefiting employees, families and taxpayers.”

Gilbert’s biggest health initiatives include free health screenings for employees and spouses, fitness challenges, mental health programs and peer support, vaccination clinics, employee wellness fairs, monthly workshops and educational opportunities. More than 170 events were held last year.

Healthiest Employers acknowledges organizations that put people first and take a proactive approach to employee health. Each company was selected by a group of professionals from the academic, wellness, medical and business communities.

“The traditional American office has changed drastically over the last few years and the members of this list prove that health and well-being programs are just as fluid. I am always impressed by the way these organizations are striving to create a happy and healthy workforce,” said Haley Potoczek, coordinator for Healthiest Employers.
