Gilbert, Ariz. - Gilbert has allocated 97% of its AZCares Fund dollars to assist with COVID-19 relief and public safety in our community.

To date, the Council Cares Subcommittee has authorized the use of $28.4 million from the $29.2 million Gilbert received from Governor Ducey in May 2020.

Gilbert assembled the Council Cares Subcommittee to better understand the impacts of COVID-19 on residents, businesses and nonprofits and ensure the AZCares Fund dollars were allocated to meet the short and long-term needs of our community.

The  $28.4 million has been allocated to:

• Local businesses: $18 million
• Public safety: $8 million
• Nonprofit assistance for residents: $2 million
• Direct resident assistance: $400,000
