Lindsay and Pecos Intersection Closed Next Weekend, June 5-8, for Project ST1170

Post Date:05/28/2020 12:30 PM

Gilbert, Ariz. - The intersection of Lindsay and Pecos Roads will be closed to all travelers beginning at 9 AM Friday, June 5th through 5 AM Monday, June 8th as contractor crews conduct grading and paving of the intersection for the Lindsay Road Improvements project (ST1170).

Vehicles will be permitted up to the intersection but will not be able to travel through, and resident and business access will be maintained. Detour signage will be in place to direct travelers around the closure.  Lindsay/Pecos Closure

Prior to next weekend’s closure, there will be left-hand turn restrictions in place at the intersection during nighttime hours beginning Thursday, May 28th, for approximately four nights as crews coat the manholes in the intersection.

Also, during nighttime hours starting on Monday, June 8th, crews will be painting traffic signal poles at the intersection for approximately one week. The intersection will remain open for travel, but lane restrictions will be in place near the work area and law enforcement officers will be on site to direct traffic.

Project ST1170 is nearing completion and includes the following improvements:

  • Widening Lindsay Road to three lanes in each direction with a center turn lane/median island
  • Improvements to bike lanes, sidewalks, streetlights, traffic signals, curbs and gutters
  • Relocation and improvements of utilities

Landscape crews continue the installation of remaining decomposed granite, landscape irrigation and plantings. Following the intersection work, crews will complete the remaining components or conduct any clean-up or punch-list activities.

We appreciate your patience as we work to finish this project.
