Gilbert NewsHello, Gilbert! Here are the top news and events for the week of January 13th:

  • Don’t miss the online premiere of the 2020 Digital State of the Town at 7 PM on Thursday, January 23rd. The Digital State of the Town is annual documentary-style video that highlights Gilbert’s accomplishments over the past year. This year’s theme is “For Our Future” and will focus on celebrating Gilbert's past while looking forward and planning for our future as we begin the town’s centennial year. Visit head Gilbert’s Facebook, Instagram or Twitter channels to be among the first to view it.

  • Calling all entrepreneurs! Gilbert is joining forces with a handful of other East Valley cities to host PHX East Valley Innovates’ EntrepreneurWeek from February 10th- 13th. The week of inspiration, education and collaboration will kick off with a networking reception on Monday, February 10th at QuartHaus in Chandler, and continue with engaging workshops throughout the East Valley centered around innovation, sustainability and entrepreneurship.   • Valley Metro and Gilbert are hosting a public meeting on Wednesday, January 15th for residents to learn more about a proposed change to the Gilbert’s paratransit service. The meeting will take place from 4-6 PM on Wednesday, January 15th at the South Area Service Center near the corner of Greenfield and Queen Creek Roads.   • Other events taking place this week include a Parks and Recreation Board Meetingat 6 PM on Tuesday, January 14th and a pension board meeting for police personnel at 5 PM on Wednesday, January 15th followed by another pension board meeting for fire personnel at 5:30 PM that same night.
