Hello, Gilbert! Here are the top news and events for the week of June 10th:
- Gilbert is in the process of updating our General Plan and we need your feedback on the themes and strategies we should consider when it comes to growth and development in our community. Visit gilbertaz.gov/GeneralPlanUpdate to learn more and participate.
Gilbert is doing even more to a promote a work-life balance for employees with its brand-new Infant at Work program. This program allows new parents to bring their children to work with them for up to six months. Head to our Digital Newsroom for more information about the program and to meet our very first participants, Gilbert Police Officer Denise Parker and her five-month-old son, Jesse.
- You are invited to attend the Construction Phase Community Open House for Gilbert’s new Public Training Facility located on the northwest corner of Power and Pecos Roads. The meeting will be held at 6 PM next Tuesday, June 18th, at the Higley High School library at 4068 East Pecos Road. Head to gilbertaz.gov/trainingfacility for more information about this project.
Join us this Friday, June 14th for the first installment of our Dive-In Movie series at Williams Field Pool. This week will feature Disney’s Moana. All ages are welcome to this free event. The pool opens at 7 PM and the movie will begin at 7:45. Lifeguards will be on duty.
Other events taking place this week include a Town Council Executive Session at 4 PM on Monday, June 10th and a Parks and Recreation Board Meeting at 6 PM on Tuesday, June 11th.
