Gilbert Budget Receives Rare Honor

Post Date:03/26/2019 9:25 AM

Gilbert, Ariz.- Gilbert’s hard-working budget team is having a little fun to celebrate another award-winning year. The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) honors budget departments across the country for outstanding work. This year, Gilbert’s Office of Management and Budget received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 20th consecutive year, and it came with Special Capital Recognition and Special Performance Measures Recognition.

To put it into perspective, the GFOA give out around 1500 Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards each year nation-wide, but fewer than five have received both the Special Capital and Special Performance recognitions. These awards recognize high quality documents that reflect national best practices on budgeting based on dozens of specific criteria.
