Gilbert NewsHello Gilbert! Here are the top news and events you need to know for the weeks of December 24th and 31st:

  • Gilbert’s offices will be closed for Christmas on Tuesday, December 25th and for New Year’s Day on Tuesday, January 1st, but trash and recycling pickup will continue as scheduled during the holidays. Please be sure to place your containers out on your scheduled day.

  • Looking for holiday recycling tips including where to recycle your tree? Check out gilbertaz.gov/holidayrecycling for a list of do’s and don’ts when it comes to recycling this holiday season.

  • Want to see the best holiday lights in Gilbert? Check out Gilbert’s Holiday Lights Map for a list of displays across the community. Visit gilbertaz.gov/holidaylights to see the full map.

  • Planning to celebrate New Year’s Eve with fireworks? Permissible consumer fireworks are only allowed in Gilbert from December 24th – January 3rd. These include sparklers, toy smoke devices, novelties, and non-aerial consumer fireworks. Firecrackers and aerial fireworks, such as skyrockets and roman candles are illegal to use.
