Post Date:08/09/2017 4:13 PM
Cooper%2FGuad ClosureGilbert, Ariz. - Heads up Gilbert drivers, road closures will be in place at the intersection of Cooper and Guadalupe Roads this weekend, August 11-14, as crews work on final paving at the intersection.  To accommodate this work, the following closures will be in place:
  • August 11 at 8:00 p.m. through August 12 at 8:00 a.m.: The intersection of Cooper and Guadalupe Roads will be closed for crews to pave Cooper Road.  Access to ARCO ampm will be available from Guadalupe Road, and access to residential areas will be at Dodge Street on the east, Cooley Drive on the north, Velero Street on the south, and Cambridge Street on the west. Harvard and Stanford Avenue residents will be escorted in and out via a flagger during this work.
  • August 12 at 8:00 a.m. through August 14 at 5:00 a.m.: The closure will continue for crews to pave Guadalupe Road east and west of Cooper Road. However, Cooper Road will be open to north and south bound traffic, one lane in each direction. Access to Cooper Road businesses will be available with right turn movements only.

Road striping will take place the following week; however, if weather doesn't allow this weekend's paving, it may be rescheduled. Please follow @GilbertYourTown on Twitter for current updates.

The Cooper and Guadalupe Improvement Project is scheduled to be completed next month, September 2017. For more information on this project, visit www.CooperGuadalupe.com.
