Gilbert Police Begin Their 2017 Citizen's Police Academy

Gilbert, Ariz. - The Gilbert Police Department begin their highly anticipated 2017 Citizen's Police Academy (CPA) on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 in the evening. Registration for the spring 2017 academy is now open. Sessions are held weekly on Wednesday evenings for seven weeks at the Gilbert Police Department in the Amphitheater located at 75 East Civic Drive, Gilbert, AZ 85296. 

The CPA gives members of the Gilbert community, including business and community leaders, an inside look at law enforcement. The academy is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the partnership between the Gilbert Police Department and the community. Below are some of the topics covered.

  • K-9 Unit
  • Tactical Operations Unit (SWAT Team)
  • Patrol Operations
  • Criminal Investigations
  • Drug Enforcement
  • Gang Enforcement 
  • Traffic Laws 
  • D.U.I. Laws
  • Firearms Safety and Orientation

To be eligible you have to be at least 18 years of age and live or work in the Town of Gilbert. You must also have no prior felony arrests and no misdemeanor arrests within five years of the application. For more information about the CPA please click here.
