Gilbert Opens SPARK Space for Entrepreneurs

Post Date:03/01/2016 9:44 AM

SPARK-spaceGilbert, Ariz.- Entrepreneurs in Gilbert now have a new place to work thanks to Gilbert’s Economic Development Department and Arizona State University. They have partnered to create SPARK Space at the Southeast Regional Library. It’s a space where entrepreneurs can learn business programs, take workshops and have access to library and town resources. And while they’re in the space working, they can enjoy free WiFi and use a professional meeting room with a reservation.

The goal of the facility is to provide tools and opportunities for collaboration that will help new businesses grow and thrive in Gilbert.

“What I love the most about the space is just the ability to come here and have peace and quiet, or the ability to work with other people and learn from one another,” said Economic Development Administrator Hilary Hirsch. “It brings people together.”

The SPARK Space is also in partnership with the Town’s SPARK App League. SPARK App League is focused on SPARKing creativity through coding and competition. Students of all experience levels gather for a two-day competition to learn the importance and power of coding from industry experts while competing for prizes. Created by Gilbert, Arizona in 2012, the nonprofit program is hosted in partnership with Arizona State University’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering and is sponsored by Google. For more information on the SPARK App League, please visit www.sparkappleague.com

To utilize the SPARK Space, stop by the Southeast Regional Library at 775 North Greenfield Road in Gilbert, Arizona during their regular business hours. To find out more about workshops, click here.
