- Introduction: The Gilbert Police Department will be hosting a Chillin' With A Cop event at The Nitro Live Icecreamery. Police and community members can gather together in an informal setting to build relationships. The event will take place on March 13, 2018 from 3:00 PM till 5:00 PM (MST).

Police and community members can gather together in an informal setting to build relationships. The Nitro Live Icecreamery is located is at 884 West Warner Rd. Ste. B9 Gilbert, AZ 85233. The event will take place on March 13, 2018 from 3:00 PM till 5:00 PM (MST).
Gilbert Police Volunteers
The Gilbert Police Department provides the opportunity for citizens to volunteer within four specific units of the police department, Gilbert Citizens on Patrol, Crisis Support Unit, Crime Prevention, and Chaplain. The mission of the Gilbert Police Volunteers is to support department personnel in providing police service and to promote community partnership.
The Police Department is currently accepting volunteer applications for the Gilbert Citizens on Patrol, Crisis Support Unit, Crime Prevention, and Chaplain.
Gilbert Citizens on Patrol
Volunteers patrol specific neighborhoods, issue parking citations, provide motorist assist, patrol special events and are available for call-out to major incidents. Gilbert Citizens on Patrol volunteers also assist officers at traffic accidents providing help as needed, and respond to low-priority calls. Extensive training provided. Must be at least 21 years old.
Crisis Support Unit
Volunteers provide support on-scene to victims of traumatic events or crime, at the request of the police or fire department. Types of support include: crisis intervention, grief support, referral to resources, and child care. Must be at least 21 years of age.
Volunteers attend community events and provide safety information and resources to residents. Events include safety fairs, school and church functions, emergency preparedness, etc. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Volunteers support department personnel, and assist in the community as needed.
- Valid birth certificate.
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid driver's license or state ID.
- Successfully pass an extensive interview, background investigation, polygraph examination and drug-screen.
- Complete orientation training.
