Protecting Older Residents: Preventing Falls
Gilbert Fire & Rescue’s number one call for service is falls, and residents age 65 years and older are the most at risk. In fact, an older adult dies from a fall every 20 minutes in the United States, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
That’s why Gilbert Fire & Rescue is teaming up with Dignity Health Trauma Services to develop prevention strategies and community programs to help educate and empower older residents.
