Traffic Operations Center
The Town of Gilbert’s Traffic Operation Center (TOC) is the nerve center of the Town’s traffic signal system. The Town of Gilbert manages the operation of over 170 traffic signals using a centralized computer system located at the TOC. From the TOC, staff manages the signal system by communicating to the traffic signals remotely, adjusting signal timings and synchronizing the traffic signals to reduce traveler delay. From the TOC, staff can respond to real-time events (such as special events, construction or traffic accidents) through monitoring live video feeds brought back to the TOC and actively managing the situation by updating signal timings. Town of Gilbert staff is working to expand this capability throughout Gilbert in an effort to increase the efficiency of our roadways, reduce fuel consumption and reduce accidents.
Traffic Counts for the previous five years are available on-line. For earlier counts, please contact the Traffic Engineering Department directly with your request.
