Planning Commission

The Planning Commission, consisting of seven members and one alternate, provides recommendations to the Town Council on land use actions, or, in certain circumstances, makes the final decision on pending requests. The Planning Commission also acts as the Board of Adjustment for the Town.

Open Meeting Law

Meetings of the Council and Boards and Commissions are required to comply with the Arizona Revised Statutes, Title 38, Article 3.1, commonly referred to as the Open Meeting Law. Meetings are public, except for executive sessions.

Open Meeting Law materials may be accessed in the Attorney General's Arizona Agency Handbook, Chapter 7 and the Arizona Ombudsman's Open Meeting Book.

GP12-02 - Request for Minor General Plan Amendment to change the land use classification of approximately 1.04 acres of real property generally located at the northeast corner of Recker Road and Warner Road from 0.96 acres of Light Industrial, 0.07 acres of Business Park and 0.01 acres of Residential >14-25 DU/Acre land use classifications to 0.96 acres of Residential >14-25 DU/Acre, 0.07 acres of Light Industrial, and 0.01 acres of Light Industrial land use classifications, as shown on the exhibit which is available for viewing in the Planning and Development Services Office;
Z12-03 - Request to amend Ordinance No.2261 and rezone approximately 34.10 acres of real property generally located at the northeast corner of Recker Road and Warner Road from approximately 25.57 acres of Multi-Family/ Medium (MF/M) , 0.96 acres of Light Industrial (LI), and 7.57 acres of Business Park (BP) zoning districts, all with a Planned Area Development overlay zoning district to approximately 26.52 acres of Multi-Family/ Medium (MF/M), ), 0.08 acres of Light Industrial (LI), and 7.50 acres of Business Park (BP) zoning districts, all with a Planned Area Development (PAD) overlay zoning district as shown on the exhibit (map), which is available for viewing in the Planning and Development Services Office, and to amend conditions of development in the Rockefeller North Gateway Planned Area Development (PAD) as follows: decrease the perimeter landscape area along the north side of the property, decrease the building setback requirement along the south side of the property and provide for establishment of homeowners associations.     PUBLIC HEARING (CONSENT)
Consent Public Hearing items will be heard at one Public Hearing. After the Consent Public Hearing, these items may be approved by a single motion. At the request of a member of the Commission or Staff, an item may be removed from Consent Calendar and may be heard and acted upon separately. Other items on the agenda may be added to the Consent Public hearing and approved under a single motion.

    Non-Consent Public Hearing items will be heard at an individual public hearing and will be acted upon by the Commission by a separate motion. During the Public Hearings, anyone wishing to comment in support of or in opposition to a Public Hearing item may do so. If you wish to comment on a Public Hearing Item you must fill out a public comment form, indicating the item number on which you wish to be heard. Once the hearing is closed, there will be no further public comment unless requested by a member of the Commission.

GP11-05 - Request for Minor General Plan Amendment to change the land use classification of approximately 26.60 acres of real property generally located at southeast corner of 164th Street and Cloud Road from Residential 1-2 DU/ acre land use classification to Residential >2-3.5 DU/ acre land use classification. Draft minutes are posted to the website within three working days of a meeting. The draft minutes contain all legal action taken.
