Walk to School Month

Tomorrow, October 6, marks National Walk to School Day, and kicks off a month of walking and biking activities throughout Gilbert. It is a great opportunity for our children to be more active and learn safe habits. Safe Routes to School is a program that promotes safety and biking and walking to school as a way to create healthy habits among our youth. Learn more.


Youth Fishing Day

Enjoy the cooler weather with your family and friends at the annual Youth Fishing Day, Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch. No registration or fishing license are required. Learn more.


Fall Break Kidz Kamp

Looking for some fun and creative activities over Fall Break? Fall Break Kidz Kamp at Freestone Recreation Center starts Oct. 11, and involves a variety of educational and physical fun, and chances to meet new friends. Learn more

Every Day Heroes Essay Contest

The Gilbert Fire Department is once again teaming up with the Phoenix Coyotes to educate the community about injury prevention at a Dec. 4 Gilbert Community Day game. All Gilbert, Higley and Mesa school students in fourth through sixth grade can win tickets with this essay contest honoring our Every Day Heroes. Learn more.

Time for Fall Concerts in the Park

The Brazen Heads kick of the Town's Fall Concerts in the Park series, with their Celtic rock styled tunes, at the Freestone Park Amphitheater. The free series is a great opportunity to get out and enjoy the weather, friends and family, and local artists. Learn more. Family Halloween Carnival

Join us for the Gilbert Family Halloween Carnival Saturday, October 30, from 5-9 p.m. at the Freestone Park Ballfield Complex.  Children of all ages will enjoy a night of safe and friendly Halloween fun as they visit Frankenstein’s Fishing Hole, try pumpkin bowling, play Ghost Bingo and decorate pumpkins.  The event will also have a variety of games, inflatable bounces and slides, free activities, a food and beverage court, vendor and sponsor booths and an entertainment stage.
