Wear Pink Day is Monday, Oct. 18

HELPING OUT NEIGHBORS: Gilbert’s Neighbor to Neighbor Program provides residents an easy way to direct their dollars to support our own neighbors, and local needs in our community. Enroll in the program, which allows residents to donate easily through your utility bill. Learn more and enroll. We thank you.

FEATURE AT FREESTONE: The Town of Gilbert Freestone Recreation Center is pleased to announce the Feature Business Program, created to help support local businesses by presenting an avenue of revenue and marketing exposure. The center has anywhere from 4,500-6,500 people coming through our center per week which makes our location a great place to advertise and promote your business.

100% 'FAIR' TO BUSINESS: Gilbert’s Development Services department earned a 100% satisfaction rate from customers who felt they received “fair and objective treatment,” according to a quarterly satisfaction survey aimed at ensuring we are providing the best customer service and support we can to our local businesses. The Town uses the surveys to gauge its service to businesses as they go through the process, and to look for any ways to improve on service and efficiency. Read the survey results.

PINK DAY SPREADS HOPE, SUPPORT: Love to watch for the garbage truck every morning? Look for drivers in pink on Monday, Oct. 18, Breast Cancer Awareness Day, as they help to spread breast cancer awareness. Gilbert’s Solid Waste Division drivers will be wearing pink shirts with pride during morning collections on Monday, Oct. 18. The staff of 80 is wearing the shirts in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Drivers join Gilbert firefighters, and other Town staff, in wearing pink on Monday in a strong show of community support.
Gilbert is proud to be the home of a strong and growing medical industry that supports women's health care. Local cancer treatment and research will grow stronger, such as with the opening of the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2011. In addition, the Arizona 3-Day kicks off from Freestone Park on Nov. 12 – and staff will wear the pink with pride again.
