Lt. Eric Shuhandler

Lieutenant Eric Shuhandler, a 16-year veteran with the Gilbert Police Department, was killed in the line of duty on Thursday, January 28, 2010.  At the time of his death was a patrol supervisor who oversaw the school resource officer program.

Officer Robert D. Targosz was killed in the line of duty by a suspected drunk driver on April 30, 2006. At the time of his death, Rob was a member of the Traffic Unit.
