Enroll now for Spring, 2013

Wednesday, April 17 through Wednesday, May 29

The CPA has given members of our community, including business and community leaders, an inside look at law enforcement. The CPA is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the partnership between the Gilbert Police Department and the community. During the academy, citizens are introduced to:

• K-9 Unit
• Tactical Operations Unit (SWAT Team)
• Police Department Tour
• Police Ethics
• Discipline Policy/Philosophy
• Patrol Operations
• Criminal Investigations
• Drug Enforcement
• Gang Enforcement
• Traffic Laws
• D.U.I. Laws
• Firearms Safety and Orientation

Academy classes are taught by police trainers and veteran officers. Students will have the opportunity to meet with the Police Chief, and they are encouraged to ask questions and interact with police employees. The Gilbert Police Department believes there will be a greater awareness and understanding of law enforcement's role in the community through the education provided by the Citizens' Police Academy.

Academy Schedule
Classes meet once a week for seven consecutive Wednesday evenings from 6:30-9:00 p.m. The classes are held weekly at the Gilbert Police Department Public Safety Complex Amphitheaer at 75 E.
