Earned Income Tax Credit

Don't miss out on earned income tax credits.

Many families are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) but do not claim these funds. Over $100 million goes unclaimed in Arizona each year.

What is EITC?

EITC is a tax benefit for low to moderate income working families. The Earned Income Tax Credit provides refunds of up to $5,666 for working families.

What is required?

To receive this money, individuals must file a federal income tax return, even if their income is below the filing requirement. The EITC can be used to pay or offset tax owed, or to receive a refund when no tax is owed.

Who is eligible for EITC?

Eligibility is based on income and family size. Even if you don't owe income tax, you can get the EITC.  For the 2010 tax year, earned income and adjusted gross income (AGI) must each be less than:

  • • $43,352 ($48,362 married filing jointly) with three or more qualifying children
  • • $40,363 ($45,373 married filing jointly) with two qualifying children
  • • $35,535 ($40,545 married filing jointly) with one qualifying child
  • • $13,460 ($18,470 married filing jointly) with no qualifying children

Find out if you are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit by answering questions and providing basic income information using the EITC Assistant. The Assistant also calculates the amount of EITC you may receive. The EITC Assistant is available in English Links outside of Town of Gilbert website and Spanish. Plans & Reports for Housing Programs

Federal Plans and Reports

In order to receive CDBG and HOME funds, the Town of Gilbert must prepare a five-year consolidated plan, annual action plans that outline intended use of federal HUD resources each year, and annual evaluation and performance reports of accomplishments utilizing federal funds.  All plans are developed in consultation with local organizations and individual residents through a public participation process.

All Plans and Reports are in .pdf format. If you are not familiar with .pdf files and would like to learn more, please start here.
