Welcome. The Town of Gilbert utilizes general funds, federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, and HOME Investment Partnership funds (HOME) to provide public services, improve neighborhood conditions, provide housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income individuals and families, and increase access to safe, decent, and sanitary housing. The goal of these programs and activities is to foster a sense of pride in the community and enrich the quality of life for Gilbert residents.

2012-2013 Annual Action Plan

The Town of Gilbert is seeking public input into the 2012/2013 Annual Action Plan.  The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is expected to allocate approximately $748,764 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and $198,077 in HOME funds to the Town of Gilbert for fiscal year 2012/2013 which begins July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.  To be eligible to receive the funds, the Town of Gilbert must update their Consolidated Plan by writing the Annual Action Plan.  The Annual Action Plan describes what activities will be undertaken during the fiscal year using CDBG and HOME funds.  The Town of Gilbert is currently seeking comments for the plan.  The required 30 day public comment period is from March 27, 2012 through April 27, 2012.

Federal Plans and Reports

In order to receive CDBG and HOME funds, the Town of Gilbert must prepare a five-year consolidated plan, annual action plans that outline intended use of federal HUD resources each year, and annual evaluation and performance reports of accomplishments utilizing federal funds.  All plans are developed in consultation with local organizations and individual residents through a public participation process.
