Smoke Detector Alert photo, defective smoke detector

The Gilbert Fire Department would like you to know that BRK Electronic Smoke Detector Model #s 4120B and 4120SB manufactured between January 1998 and October 2000 have shown a pattern of battery failure. The 9 volt batteries inside these particular models will rapidly drain, overheat, expand and even explode. If your home was built from 1998 to 2001, unscrew the detector and look underneath for the model numbers: 4120B or 4120SB. Homeowners with these model numbers should contact the BRK customer service hotline at 1-800-323-9005.
