Fish at the Riparian Preserve

The Fishing Lake at Water Ranch is operated as an Urban Fishing Lake by the Arizona Game and Fish Department, as part of Arizona's nationally recognized program. Arizona Game and Fish stocks this lake on their schedule, with seasons, numbers and species for addition determined by them, but species include:

  • Rainbow Trout
  • Largemouth Bass
  • Sunfish
  • Farm-raised Channel Catfish
  • Tilapia

Current fishing regulations for the Water Ranch Fishing Lake are posted on site, and available though the Arizona Game and Fish website: http://www.azgfd.gov/h_f/urban_at_glance.shtml

Fishing is strictly prohibited in the basins and waterways of the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch, as fish in these natural habitat areas are not stocked, but naturally occurring, and therefore protected from interference in order to support the wildlife within this unique ecosystem.
