Gilbert on the move

Town of Gilbert Transportation Master Plan

The Town of Gilbert is currently developing the Town's first Integrated Multi-Modal Transportation Master Plan. The Plan will document existing transportation inventory, traffic volumes, and gather input from interested residents, businesses and travelers related to all modes of transportation in Gilbert; and identify future transportation needs.

Progress to Date

The project team held public meetings in May 2013 to kick off the planning process. During the summer months, the team has gathered information relating to Gilbert's traffic counts and existing transportation inventory such as roads, traffic signals, bicycle facilities, pedestrian facilities and transit. A second round of public meetings was held in November 2013 where information was shared with the public related to existing transportation and an opportunity to provide additional input into the Transportation Master Plan.

In addition, an on-line survey was made available and over 700 individuals provided their input. View survey results.

Current Schedule

  • November 2013 - Public Meetings to Present Existing Conditions and Results of Public Input as well as seek additional input from participants.
  • Spring 2014 - The project team will use the information from transportation modeling and the public process to develop a Draft Transportation Master Plan, which will be presented to the public for comments.
  • Summer 2014 - The Gilbert Transportation Master Plan will be finalized and presented to the Gilbert Town Council.
