Gilbert's Arts, Culture and Tourism (ACT) Board to Hold Closing Reception for Gilbert's First Temporary Art Installation
On Friday, June 20, 2014, Gilbert’s Arts, Culture and Tourism (ACT) Board, along with artist, Bobby Zokaites, will hold a closing reception for Gilbert’s first temporary art installation, located at Bergies Coffee Roast House in Gilbert’s Heritage District. The first twenty-five guests to arrive at the event will receive a postcard signed by the artist with a remnant material of the artwork. Additionally, refreshments and music will be provided at no cost to attendees.
The temporary art piece, entitled Boone’s Flugelhorn, will be located in Gilbert until the end of June. The piece is part of IN FLUX, an organization that brings together valley cities and towns to provide opportunities for local artists to create site-specific temporary public art installations.
IN FLUX, which is currently in its fourth cycle, demonstrates a holistic approach to temporary public art projects through a showcase of local Arizona artists presented within the context of viewing the Valley as one community. IN FLUX provides unique project opportunities for artists to expand their skill-sets, innovatively apply their creativity, and garner public recognition for their work.
Friday, June 20, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
